                    1987 KRACO INDY CAR
 
          

          

          

Description:

This is one of two identical cars used by the Kraco team of Compton, California for Michael Andretti during the 1987 CART season.  Andretti finished second in the season championship behind Bobby Rahal.  Michael won four races that year.  Team records have been lost but we believe this to be the chassis in which he won Miami, Florida and Nazareth, Pennslyvania which was his home track.  It is fitted with a Cosworth DFX engine. During the 1988 seasn it was used as a show car and painted in the team's '88 colors which were slightly different than '87.  You can see the difference in the photos above.  Unlike other cars used as show cars, however, Kraco did not strip this one.  It is complete in every way and lacks nothing. The car was purchased directly from Kraco where it was the centerpiece display in their trophy room.  A letter of provenance from Kraco accompanies it.

The car had been very well kept before Kraco sold it and needed little preparation except the usual items such as freshening the brake and clutch hydraulics.  We checked the entire fuel system from cell to injectors and pulled the undertray to check for cracks and scrapes and also to examine the bottom of the engine. We also pulled the cam covers to check the topside of the engine. Everything looked perfect.  You will find no cleaner historic Indy car than this one.  After having no use while it was on display by Kraco, however, we  feel it would be best if the engine was freshened prior to returning to the track.  We have already discussed the engine rebuild with VDS Engines in Indianapolis.  The owner prefers not to have that work done at this time in order to keep the price low.

Many investors feel that historic Indy cars will be the next group to see the appreciation which has increased the value of Sports Racing and Formula One cars so much in recent years.  This is your opportunity to buy one of the best prepared and most historic of all at an incredibly low price and take the appreciation yourself.  Whether you plan to race the car in the US or Euro Boss series or just to enjoy owning it, there is none better.

Reynard 95D 007 raced in the 1995 European F3000 championship then was sold to Australia and fitted with Holden V6 engine to race in Formula Holden. The car was sold in 2000 to a California collector and used for a few track days and local club races  and then sat in his  collection unitl he sold the car in 2008

This race car is in excellent race track ready condition. It was last tested in March 2009 at Watkins Glenn. The engine has been rebuilt by Kroyer and has aprox 4 races on it. Over 400HP .Upgraded to Motec engine management data acquisition systems and modified with Edelbrock intake, custom exhaust plus internal engine mods by Kroyer. It is extremely reliable and mind blowingly fast.

F1 Benetton B194-05 MICHAEL SCHUMACHER 1994 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP RACE CAR!

Probably the most significant race car in F1 history!This is Michael Schumacher's most significant 1994 F1 World Championship winning car. Indeed, of the several chassis used by Michael during his quest for his first World Championship, Chassis B194-05 has achieved alone, half of all points scored by him during the whole season. This car has the highest claim to having won the Championship! What we offer for sale is an exceptional piece of motor sport history, being it for F1 itself, Michael Schumacher, Benetton or Cosworth!Chassis 05 was used by Michael Schumacher to win his first F1 Championship scoring 4 wins and 2 second place finishes. The B194-05 won the 1994 Grand Prix of Imola, Canada, Monte Carlo, France and finished second in the Grand Prix of Spain and Britain (disqualified). This chassis was thus the highest points scoring chassis that he used in his first F1 World Championship winning year. It scored 46 out of Michael Schumacher's 92 points!We frankly can't imagine a more significant contemporary F1 car!The particular position of Chassis 05 in its history has also been recognized by Cosworth, which had Chassis B194-05 featured for its 50th Anniversary celebration during the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July, 2008. Unique opportunity to purchase a superb Tampolli LMP675/LMP2 This car, chassis# 012/675/2003 was designed and built in 2003 for the 675kilo class of the WSC and sold to Ranieri Randaccio where the car was initially raced in the Interseries at Most, winning it's class in its only 2 races that year.In 2004 Ranieri Randaccio, under the SCI banner then raced the car in the LMP2 class of the LeMans Endurance Series. The car ran throughout that year and again in 2005 finishing its final race, being Istanbul on the 13th of November 2005.The car is presented in very good condition with the Hewland NTL 6 speed sequential gearbox fitted, but minus engine and 3 brake callipers. 1997 Porsche 993 GT2R built by Belgian race team AD SPORT in 2004 on Porsche factory motorsport chassis (0460014). This car won the Belcar endurance cup series in 2006 after which I bought it and have used it as the ultimate trackday car.

The car has been maintained by Fearnsport at Silverstone. At present it runs a N/A 3.6 varioram engine putting out 320 b.h.p. It can easily handle over 500 h.p. with only minor changes to setup and the correct engine. For further details on the spec.
